VDA Units

The VDA Unitis not only the world’s first handheld, wireless, full-motion videophone, it goes one step further with its ability to simultaneously transmit and receive high-speed data. A VDA unit utilizes a Voice, Data, & Audio module, an LCD screen, an onboard color video camera that swivels, a microphone, and a speaker. The VDA unit features voice control of its wireless functions. All VDA units can talk peer to peer, and interface with a desktop computer enabling wireless video conferencing through a network or the Internet.

The handheld VDA unit has serious applications for Federal / State / Local Government Agencies and the civilian population as a handheld, real-time, two-way, wireless video, data, and audio communicator that will save lives, time and money. 

 

Consider the following scenarios:

  • People could make connection from your desktop at work and one to a VDA unit at home and watch children or teenagers at home .No more wondering what there up to when your away at work during those after school hours.

  • An executive or plant manager is alerted of a crisis requiring immediate feedback. The onsite supervisor, equipped with a handheld VDA unit, communicates the crisis in real time video, voice, and data, allowing accurate decisions without the executive or plant manager ever leaving their office – whether the crisis was in the same building, or in another state or country.

  • A potential or actual crisis situation confronts a branch of the U.S. Government. Trained units respond with wireless, handheld VDA units as an integral part of their equipment, transmitting real-time video, data, and voice to a command center where immediate decisions can be made as if the command center staff is actually present on site. The guesswork of interpreting verbal descriptions of real-time events is replaced with video, data, and voice.

  • A police officer steps out of a patrol car carrying a VDA unit. The officer aims the VDA unit directly at the suspect and inside the suspect’s vehicle with video, voice, and data being streamed in real time to the precinct or a recorder in the patrol car, allowing communication that includes video, data, and audio.

  • Imagine a patient being rushed into an Emergency Room and their doctor is at home or at the office. Hospital staff could use a handheld VDA unit and the Internet to not only allow the doctor to see and hear their patient and get vital data, but the patient could see and speak with their own trusted doctor, who could ensure proper care is given – in real time.

  • A security guard is dispatched on an emergency call, or detects something highly suspect. Carrying a VDA unit with him he stays in contact with the dispatcher using video, data, and audio. The dispatcher sees what the guard sees, and the guard can see whatever the dispatcher transmits.

  • Use the VDA unit with VDA repeater modules for all video, data, and audio communication for missions in space, connecting to a main COM link down to NASA or other agencies.

  • A child or student could be sick and not go to school but with a VDA unit he could learn from home almost like he was there.
